The Portable Nucleic acid Analyser (PNA™):
- The PNA™ is a miniaturised, handheld and networked system loaded with pre-packaged, stabilised reagent mixtures that are ready and safe to use by non-specialists
- Using DNA and RNA sequence amplification and detection methods, it can provide equivalent analytical performance to current, high-cost laboratory systems, and supports a range of nucleic acid amplification-based methodologies in streamlined, user-friendly workflows at a prospective cost of Cents per test.
- The PNA™ is designed for detailed analysis of the microbial composition of samples using spatially-multiplexed assay arrays to support diagnostic screening for infection or hazardous agents from clinical and environmental samples, on-site.
- A unique ‘archiving’ process keeps amplified genetic material stored safely for transit to a capable laboratory for sequencing and safe-disposal.
